Quitting Commercial Bath and Beauty Products

I am going to give natural, homemade beauty and bath products a try. As in, I am quitting cold turkey as soon as my boar bristle brush, wooden comb, and Dr. Bronner's 18-in-1 Castile soap come in.

Instead of store-bought deodorant, I'll be using this recipe from Almost Exactly. I have enjoyed Alex Raye's blog posts about going natural. An inspiration!

Instead of shampoo and conditioner, I plan on trying the rinse only/water washing method first. I may go to a different "no-'poo" or "low-'poo" method.

Instead of lotion (which I rarely use), I'm going to try straight up coconut oil. It seems like I will look and smelly like a greasy beach goer, but other people swear by the stuff.

Instead of shaving cream... coconut oil. Again.

Instead of a generic bar soap, I will be using diluted Dr. Bronner's.

Instead of baby powder, I'll be using arrowroot powder. I don't usually use baby powder, but I think it might help to prevent oil stains on my clothes.

I'm hoping this is will become a permanent way to take better care of Mother Earth and the body She gave me!

Out of the broom closet... To Amazon, at least.

Kindle Lending Library troubles. 25 minute call to customer service. ISBN and title of witchy book given. No lightning came from the sky, no Bible thumping occurred. Problem couldn't be solved. Credited the amount for the book in order to purchase it.

Because I saw a car

Was listening to The Pagan Homesteader on my drive home and saw a car going the other way with a witchy customized license plate and pagan bumper stickers. And thus, I am here. Hello, world.
